Your choice
When you first visit, nothing optional runs until you choose. "Accept all" and "Reject non-essential" are equally easy, and you can change your mind at any time from Cookie preferences at the foot of every page. We record each choice, with this policy's version, so we can show what you agreed to.
The categories
Category | What it does | Examples | Needs your consent |
|---|---|---|---|
Necessary | Keeps the site working and secure | Your sign-in session, security tokens, your cookie choices (cl_consent) | No |
Preferences | Remembers choices that make the site easier to use | Recently viewed pieces (from a later release) | Yes |
Analytics | Shows us how the site is used, so we can improve it | A random visitor identifier (cl_aid, 13 months) and a visit identifier that ends after 30 minutes without activity | Yes |
Marketing | Measures our advertising | Ad click identifiers from links you followed | Yes |
Without your consent
We count page views and page speed in aggregate, with nothing that could single you out: no visitor identifier, no referrer and no ad click identifier. This baseline is under legal review.
Third parties
We don't load third-party trackers in your browser. If marketing measurement is added later, it will run from our servers and only with your marketing consent, and this policy will get a new version, so you'll be asked again.
